£500 Energy Bonus For Halifax Mortgage Customers
Individuals who take out a mortgage with Halifax will be given a £500 energy bonus to use towards their gas and electricity bills.
Customers who obtain a home loan from the bank between 4 October 2010 and 5 November 2010 will be entitled to the cash, which will be paid directly to the energy supplier on receipt of a valid utility bill.
Stephen Noakes, Commercial Director at Halifax, said households that take most advantage of the offer will be able to save between four and six months' worth of invoices.
"There are numerous costs incurred with setting up or running a home and energy bills usually represent a significant chunk of a household's monthly outgoings," he added.
Last month, Managing Director of the National Self Build and Renovation Centre, Tim Doherty, explained how British homeowners can save money if they ensure their properties are as energy-efficient as they can be. Mr Doherty indicated that loft and floor insulation can help to keep heat in and therefore keep costs low.
