Move to North Could Be Ahead For Property Owners In South
An expert has suggested that large homes for reasonable prices could pull those living in the south of the country into the property market of the north.
The regional executive for the National Association of Estate Agents, Richard Horner, pointed out the on setting trend, stating that such a relocation will be welcomed by the north.
These assertions come following a report that found London and the neighbouring areas within the top ten of places in the UK that cost the most to live. On the other hand, all the most inexpensive places to live were located within the midlands or the north.
The quality of housing is the same, Mr Horner continued to state, but the reputation the north as more working class, in relation to the industry that traditionally thrived in the area, has kept property prices down in comparison to their southern counterparts.
This difference in house prices is further supported by the greater number of available and well paid jobs to be found in the south compared to the north, and because of this demand for housing in the north has been lower, driving prices down.
The expert further noted that "as a consequence we have got fantastic towns and cities within the northern area that would welcome a migration from the south to the north and for them [people] to enjoy the benefits of not only of the towns and cities but also the splendid countryside that we have got surrounding us.”![]()
