People Must Seriously Think When Considering A Conservatory
The deputy chief executive officer for Glass and Glazing Federation, Giles Willson, has suggested that any plan to build a conservatory should be seriously thought over by the property owners.
The specialist observed that such a commitment is a considerable move that needs attention to get right.
Issues that need to be considered is how the conservatory extension will be used throughout the year, in each season, and the manner it could affect the price of the house, meaning that such an addition should be done so correctly.
Conservatories are best constructed with the use of energy-efficient insulating glass, as this keeps the heat inside the building, meaning the temperature is sustained throughout the year.
Furthermore, it would be wise to build such a conservatory away from where the mid-day sunlight hits, in order to avoid the extension overheating. If the building is built in such a direction solar control panels can be used to minimise the problem. In terms of roofing the home owner can choose between glass or polycarbonate.
"Glass gives you a clear view up through the roof [and] the use of laminated glass and safety filmed glasses can add protection from falling debris through the roof of the conservatory," he clarified.
Polycarbonate filter intense sunlight somewhat, creating a softer glow, however it is apt to amplifying the noise of rain or hail.
