Which? Mortgage Service Slammed As 'Waste Of Money'

 

A mortgage advice service launched by Which? has been accused of being a waste of time and money by an industry expert.

Director at MyMortgageDirect, Catherine Hearnden, said the move by the consumer rights body is a waste of money.

"It seems like an unnecessary expense to [Which?] members - paying salaries to people when there is a whole industry body of independent financial advisors and independent mortgage brokers," she added.

Ms Hearnden explained that she cannot understand why the establishment has felt the need to launch the product when they have always advised people to seek independent financial advice.

However, she accepted that anything that provides more support to consumers is "never a bad thing".
